About Scott Patterson, CFE

Scott Patterson’s writing has ranged from heartwarming stories about Special Olympics athletes to hard-hitting pieces about fraud perpetrators being sent back to prison for the second – or even third – time. As a former senior PR man for the world’s largest anti-fraud organization, he brings a unique perspective in his coverage of business, finance and white collar crime issues.

During his nine years at the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Scott conducted regular outreach to media worldwide, landing coverage in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Guardian, The London Telegraph, Bloomberg Businessweek, Forbes, MSNBC, Fox News and CNBC, among other media outlets.

Scott knows that good journalism goes beyond the numbers on a financial report or a new product hitting the market. Real news is about real people, what they have created and how they are impacting others every day. In the case of fraud, it is also about the damage people can cause … and how others are working to uncover their harmful acts.

Scott resides in Austin, Texas. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). For more information, visit ScottHPatterson.com.
